Mark, I have a Koken “Congress” oak, round seat, round back barber chair circa 1890-1905. I have the same problem. I need to know how to disassemble the base from the cylinder housing. Can’t find any screws. I don’t know if it’s pressed in or unscrews from the base. I’ve tried several ways to separate them. Let me know if you find the answer. Email me your email address and I’ll send you any info I find.
